Unfortunate Policy #9: Expect Us To Have Standards

It's kind of nice to see setting a "boundary" as a popular trend.

It can be a double edged sword.  How do you establish a standard of quality but not make the impression that your quality is based on your ego?

This has very little with the product itself, but everything before, during and after the engagement.

Our unique industry deals exclusively in talent - not toys, not food, not animals, ability.  However, it has become more about how we make the guests feel and not as much about the quality of the work.

And then there's the other side, establishing the parameters so that the artist or performer can do their best and be the most productive and successful for the best guest experience.

This is definitely not about riders, or complications, but non-negotiable needs.  It's always nice to feed or offer beverages or a perfectly climate-controlled and conversation-conducive work environment, but our needs are more the equivalent of "2 wheels for a bicycle."

I absolutely love making customers' lives easier and vetting the potential (even playing a devil's advocate) so that all concerns related to need-and-clean, safe-and-strong are addressed and THEN we can have fun and make those good memories.  It's a painful experience for all when "oh, I didn't think of that" happens and it's too late to change anything.
